What Looks Different At A Child-Driven Overnight Summer Camp?
May 18th, 2026
At our child-driven overnight summer camp, campers help shape their experience 💫
Our days follow a thoughtful and flexible rhythm. We plan each day with intention, while also leaving space for spontaneity. The campers’ energy, interests, and ideas are constantly shaping how each day actually unfolds…
One morning might follow the planned schedule – beginning with a watercolor painting workshop, followed by swimming and canoeing in the lake. Another day might veer completely away from the plan and instead lead to an ice cream cookie sandwich making competition (including tasting the final results of course!), creating decorations for a spontaneous camp party later that day, or a group brainstorming session to dream up new elaborate ideas to bring to life.
Because of our intentionally small-group sessions, relaxed family-like atmosphere, and high staff-to-camper ratio, we’re able to truly listen to campers and adapt to what feels exciting, supportive, and engaging in the moment.
We believe confidence, creativity, and compassion grow best in this kind of environment.
If this feels like the kind of summer camp your child would thrive in, let’s make it happen! Reach out to info@growingroutes.org with questions or visit our website for learn more & register today 💛
