We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized individual to join our summer camp in Maine as our Camp Chef. This individual will take ownership of the camp kitchen and be responsible for planning, shopping, budgeting, preparing, and serving delicious, wholesome meals for campers and staff. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen, managing inventory and supplies, harvesting from the camp gardens, leading educational programs in the kitchen, and creating opportunities for campers to participate in cooking and baking.

You will play an important role in fostering a sense of connection to the environment and the land we live on, positive relationship with food, helping campers understand where their food comes from, and engaging them in hands-on cooking experiences.

The camp Chef also plays a vital role in shaping campers’ daily experience and overall well-being. By providing fresh, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared meals, you help campers feel nourished, energized, and cared for—supporting both their physical health and emotional comfort. Meals at camp are not just about nutrition; they are about creating moments of connection, joy, and familiarity. For many campers, particularly those experiencing homesickness, wholesome food and comforting favorites can provide reassurance and a sense of “home away from home,” contributing significantly to their positive experience at camp and their ability to fully engage in all activities.

The weekly schedule, housing arrangements, and compensation will be determined based on experience and camp needs.
