Marigold Seeds Looking For Homes!

March 26th, 2026

It snowed 5” this past Sunday and yet summer is closer than ever! In preparation for camp, we’ve been planting veggie, herb, and flower seedlings that campers will get to enjoy all summer long 🌱

Last year, we planted a ton of big, bright marigolds around the perimeter of the veggie garden in an effort to keep the deer away. It worked (knock on wood!), so we are doing it again and inviting YOU to join!

✨ If your child wants to grow some camp marigolds at home, send us an email (info@growingroutes.org) with your mailing address and we’ll send some seeds your way. ✨

Now is the perfect time to start them indoors. You can use a seed tray or simply an old cardboard egg carton – fill it with soil, sow the seeds about ¼” deep, and make sure to keep them warm and watered. Once the danger of frost has passed, they’re ready to be transplanted outside! ☀️
