Reminiscing on Prom Last Summer

Prom came up in conversation at camp one day last summer and after some excited chatter, we decided to plan our own camp version…
Campers and staff were each secretly given “prom dates” to invite to the party. Over the course of the next week, elaborate prom-posals unfolded. A handmade bracelet spelling “PROM?” was woven, an entire music video created, a dance routine choreographed and performed, a fake haircut given, cabins decorated, poems and letters written, and so many other creative invitations 💛
We started by dreaming up what we wanted our prom to look like and then wrote a list of all the things we needed to do in order to bring it to life. We made our own decorations, hung the disco ball, curated the perfect playlist, wrote menu cards for a special dinner, set a beautiful table with candles and flowers, built a photo booth, drank afternoon tea with gold eye masks on, listened to music in the cabins while picking out fun outfits, adorned lots of glitter, took prom photos at sunset, fueled up on homemade pizza and salad from the garden, and danced the night away 💫
