Summer Camp at Twigg Farm

An overnight program in Mid-Coast Maine.

Overview

Summer camp in Maine is full of magical moments — the first laugh with cabin mates, excited shivers before a morning lake swim, or the taste of a perfectly cooked s’more. At Camp Chloë, these experiences foster new skills, friendships, confidence, creativity, and compassion — the core values at the heart of everything we do.

Our child-centered, small-group summer camp intentionally keeps sessions to 8–20 campers with a very high staff-to-camper ratio (5–6 staff per group). Every child receives individualized attention in a supportive, family-like environment. Our program is child-driven and camper-inspired, giving girls a voice in their activities, games, and even weekly meal planning.

We design days around curiosity, exploration, and growth — nurturing children to try new activities, develop skills, and expand their comfort zones in a safe, inspiring environment. We cook and eat meals together using fresh produce from our gardens and make our own ice cream with mint and berries from the farm. Wildflowers bloom everywhere, apple, oak, and walnut trees provide shade for afternoon play, and evenings are filled with the ancient sounds of loons, crickets, and bullfrogs.

Twigg Farm, our camp home, sits on 84 acres in Union, Maine, with woods, rolling fields, an apple orchard, frog pond, greenhouse, large barn, trails, and 600 feet of private shoreline on 560-acre Seven Tree Pond. The setting offers endless possibilities for adventure and exploration, creating a truly unique and enchanting small-group summer camp experience in Maine.

Our days are organized but flexible. We are busy, but not rushed — following a schedule that feels fun in the moment. By balancing new challenges with relaxing simplicity, we nurture confidence, creativity, and compassion while giving every camper space to grow, explore, and thrive.

Savoring the small moments…

At Camp Chloë, we believe in the magic of the in-between moments. Our days are full, but never rushed—leaving space for spontaneity, creativity, and the unexpected joys that come from listening to campers’ ideas.

While we plan an exciting range of activities, campers also have a voice in shaping their experience. Their ideas inspire us, and we love following their lead when it sparks something special. Campers are often involved in deciding the menu for the week and work together to cook meals made with fresh ingredients from our gardens.

This blend of structure and flexibility creates a space where campers feel seen, valued, and empowered to explore their world. It nurtures confidence, creativity, and compassion through meaningful experiences and everyday moments.
